We are starting to wind down towards the end of the tour part of the trip, and today being more of a chill one was much needed by many 🙂
We had a 2 hour bus ride bus ride to start the day, moving from Coimbra to the Douro Valley, known for its wines and ports.
Along the way there were some incredible vistas, as well as views of burned areas from the wildfires that raged here only days ago.

We arrived at one of the oldest wineries in the region, Quinta Da Pacheca where we had a little tour of the winery, and a sampling of a White and Red wine, and a 20 y/o Tawny Port that was amazing and is coming home with us 🙂
We had a nice picnic lunch at the winery, complete with a piece of cake and round of “Happy Birthday” for Mel. We explored the incredible views for a while, before we were back on the bus to our hotel for the night.

We are staying at another winery in the area, and just chilled for the afternoon and evening with views, drinks and a light dinner.
Off for a river cruise in the morning, and then long Bus ride to Porto where we will finish the tour.
Enjoy the pics (and very happy Birthday to my beautiful wife and daughter today!)
