Today was a bit of a big travel day. We left Lisbon behind with a thanks/see ya later, and headed for the sunny (foggy) resort city of Sintra.
At Sintra we toured the VERY BUSY palace of Sintra – not the originally intended stop but the Pena Palace was closed due to the threat of wildfires (raging in Portugal right now)

After a pastry snack (of course) – this time the local Sintra “Pillows”, we headed to the westernmost point of Europe – Cabo da Roca for some quick scenic pics.

Another hours tour on the bus had us arriving at Cascais – a seaside town of beaches and restaurants where we had lunch, and Gelato recommended as the “best” of all of them – it was pretty good 😉
The next stretch was a long one – 2 hours broken up by, as our guide so eloquently put it, a “pee pee and poo poo” break 😂😂
We arrived in Coimbra, our home for the next 2 nights, just about in time to head out for dinner.
Lots to see here tomorrow – for now, here are today’s pics!
