The Bearded Globetrotter

Technically this was the first day of the 8 day tour with Intrepid – but as is typical to most group tours it consists of an evening meet and greet followed by a dinner.

Before that however, we decided to make a day of a walk to a botanical gardens to have a picnic. It was only 2km or so away (about 1.2 American Eagles for my US friends). No problem right?

Turns out that Lisbon has… elevation. Up and down!

We grabbed a wrap, some waters, and of course more Pastel de Nata (we need energy right???) and off we went.

It was a hike, no doubt about it 😂😂. We made it tho, enjoyed the gardens and little picnic, toured the Basilica across from the gardens, and decided a cab back was the wiser choice 🤪.

We had just enough time for a bit of shopping when we got back (“we” being not me 😂🙄) before we met the group and went for dinner.

Seems like a great group – Canadians and Australians, and we all got along out of the gate – so that’s good!

Tomorrow is a big tour day locally, so plenty of rest of the bodies is required. Till then…
